'cause people keep asking how I did, I'm reposting this, so sorry :o)
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for everyone's messages of support for my
motoracing 'endevers' (RE: Well, this is it then...) :o) It was an
extremely tough 3 days - I could really feel the pressure; I've honestly
never felt anything like it. On the whole it was a lot of fun, skidding
in Caterams, Merc's, Formula Firsts and lapping in race-prepared
Peugeots, Lotus's 49's ..er I mean Elise's :)) and of course the Formula
Ford's I race in the Goldline Bearings championship - see sig :) I was
quick, there's no doubt about it - everyone was - so there was a lot of
pressure put onto everyone to perform - to stand out, as only 6 drivers
were selected for the final in Le Mans - out of 28!
You may have noticed that I'm not exactly shouting and screaming about
it, so you may have guessed I wasn't one of the lucky six :( But I'm
certainly not too down-cast as I learnd alot of important lessons; the
standard of driving was better than anything I've come up against
before, and I was certainly not off the pace. I think the last 3 days
have allowed me to 'raise my game' and hopefully I can carry this
momentum into racing next year! That depends on the money situation, of
course but for now I must concentrate on next weekend - the final race
of my FFord Goldline Bearing Championship and I have a good feeling
about taking the win :o)
I won't give up; I'll succeed even if it kills me :))

I'm one of those who was hassling, so thanks for the repost.
Sorry to hear you didn't get through, but good to hear you've taken something
positive away. That attitude will help take you far I'm sure - who wan't a
sulker, eh?
Well done for getting there in the first place, and good luck for the final
race,

Before you buy.
Who did win it? Were any of the du Toits brothers present?
Don't recognise that name - the final is taking place today; I'm sure we'll
know the identity of the 2 winners soon - hopefully the 2 guys from my group
:) Better to be beaten by the best!

Keep it up Rob! Sorry you didn't get to move on to France but I'm glad you
felt good about your ELF try out.
Sounds like you have the talent and drive (sorry) to go far in racing. Go
get 'em!
Well, it's one thing to say it, but doing it is a billion times harder :)
Time will tell!
