I have been struggling with this wheel for some time now, and the
frustration is getting to me... I have been trying to contact the
support dept. at Saitek, but they appear to be very deaf. Does
anyone have any old drivers for the r4 wheel (not force feedback) that
allow the 3 axis mode to be used?
The latest drivers (v2.75) allow me to use 3 axis mode in GPL, which
is great, but they have a "centreing mode" which cuts in between +15
deg. and -15 deg. This mode is supposed to make
it easier to drive by forcing it to track straight ahead, but it
makes it very hard to use, as fine adjustments are impossible.
The old drivers on the cd allow a normal steering operation (analog
from full left to full right), but don't work with the 3 axis mode, so
I have to use the standard joystick mode. Also, the drivers
sometimes misread the buttons, and shift down instead of up, and vice
versa. This is extremely frustrating!!! Both sets of drivers are
pretty much useless, and I cannot get a response from
Saitek. If anyone has any old drivers that they would be able to email
or send, then please feel free!! I would love to use the 3 axis mode
that I have paid for, but substandard drivers are frustrating me.
TIA
