Was wondering ,i would like to race at advanced level on gpl but with a novice damage model manyone know a way?
Find the 67 season.ini file on gpl folder and then change the number of laps to fit the distance you want to race when you choose novice level.I think that ,normally, novice is set to be around 10% of the grandprix distance, so if you want a 30% race on novice , multiply the number of laps on the 67season file by 3 and so on. The Pits have a util called SVG edit by Cris Eichler, it allows you to change things like number of laps, damage model, grid order and some other things in a saved game. You can do a novice race with a novice damage level, do the practise and after the practise you can set the number of laps to a full GP and disable the damage level.... You will have to do your practise with a damage level as saved games only can be made after practise and before the race starts... But who cares about that anyway? Somehow you can do many laps without any engine problems in practise and the damned thing blows after a few laps in the race.... It's always like that, looks like the posibility to have a damaged engine is far bigger in the race as it is in the practise session :-/ Oh yeah, the util is at www.theuspits.com --Sjon

Er, thanks for the plug, Sjon... ;-) SVG-Edit allows you to: - edit race length, opposition level and damage model - change the Player's team and the Player's car type (F1/F2/F3) - change each of the AI's teams and car types - change the grid positions I just sent out an updated version (v1.01) to the Pits that has a mention of the required VB6 runtimes in the readme.txt I forgot that in the first release which caused some confusion. Cheers ! Cris Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
