SCGT Service Pack - HELP!!!

9 posts by 5 people · 17 Nov 1999 - 20 Nov 1999

Hiya everyone, I'm at the pulling my hair out stage with this Service Pack 3 download.... Got all 45 files using Gozilla, put them in their own directory then tried to run the SCGTSP30.exe file and keep getting the following message:- "Exception EOutOfMemory in module SCGTSP30.EXE at 00001FC5. Out of memory." I've tried rebooting, making sure no programs are running in the background and redownloading the SCGTSP30.EXE file and nothing helps... anybody got any suggestions at all?? Many Thanks Peter Hooper

I get the exact same error message. I did use Gozilla to download all the files, so it shouldn't be the Netscape problem some people have suggested. Could it be that I'm running this on NT 4.0 and not Win9x? Peter, what OS do you use? BTW I tried opening the .exe file with WinZip, but WinZip didn't accept it. Torben Bang Nielsen

Brilliant suggestion Ed! I looked through the Scgtsp30.exe file and found a couple of occurrences of 'ACE', so I found a small freeware utility (http://www.fortunecity.de/lindenpark/wagner/78/es95.zip) that could unpack ACE files. With this util it was a matter of running it in a CMD shell: 'es95 /e Scgtsp30.c00' - et voila - Scgtsp30.zip I guess in this scenario the Scgtsp30.exe file isn't used at all. cheers, Torben Bang Nielsen

Just a thought, but, how much hard-drive space do you have left? Maybe it is filling up or something? -- the friendly pysco -I know it's spelled wrong but I'm not a psycho ;-) -Early bird gets the worm, second mouse gets the cheese

Well, I am down to about 250mb or so on the drive concerned, but it did say 125mb required so I thought it would be ok. I'll free up some more space and give it another try Cheers Peter Hooper
Just to let you know that I moved a load of stuff onto another drive freeing up plenty of space but am still getting the same error message :O( I'll give the manual unarchiving mentioned in an earlier post a go and see if that works. Thanks for all the replies.. Peter Hooper > Well, I am down to about 250mb or so on the drive concerned, but it did say

Peter, I'm also down to a measly 255mb of free space on my hard drive. But I can play GPL,SCGT,and Nascar3 just fine. Joel Willstein
