The recent thread about GP2 made me wonder if there have been any
patches for GP2, except the obvious new tracks / cars / names etc
patches.
But have there been upgrades for the physics, force feedback, the
slowmo problem, 3dfx or stuff like that? Patches that really improve
GP2?
In that case, maybe it's worth installing GP2 again, while waiting for
GP3...

Nothing to really improve the game, just hacks. You can change the physics
a bit, but not actually improve the physics model. Just adds some variety,
if you're sick of driving that same car. Pretty much all the goodies are at
www.grandprix2.com.
BTW the slo-mo problem is easy to fix. Just reduce framerate and detail.
Most importantly, be sure to turn off the clouds.

But GP2LAP (http://www.xs4all.nl/~rsdi/) is a great realtime utility
that for example shows a live trackmap, logging of laptimes, real 3D
graphics instead of sprites etc etc.. Turns it really into a better
game.
