Hi, I realize I'm on some pretty heavily trod ground here so I
apologize if my specific question has been dealt with before. To wit:
I have a LWFF and CH Pro (gameport) pedals. I have read that one can
connect the LWFF to the CH pedals. What I want to know is can one plug
the LWFF into the USB port and the CH pedals into the gameport and use
both, and if so, 1) is there an FAQ anywhere on how to do this and 2)
is it worth it. I am happy with my LWFF throttle but the brake is
extremely challenging to use with any precision.
Thanks,
Christian Hansen
You can connect both. I have my CH Pedals plugged into the gameport with a
joystick plugged into them as well. I added this as controller 1, using the
CH Flightstick Pro driver. I had to plug the joystick in otherwise the
pedals weren't recognised. I plugged the LWFF in the USB and set it up as
controller 2. In GPL and RC2000 I was able to assign the correct controls.
I understand that some games may not recognise two controllers at the same
time though.
For GPL the CH Pedals were a massive improvement over the Logitech ones.
Trail braking becomes possible. It did take a bit of getting used to
though. I finally think I'm there though having just set my lap record a
Monza (1:30.53 in an Eagle).
I would definitely advise you to use the CH Pedals.
Cheers
Phil

Christian,
GPL will recognize both the LWFF in the USB port and the CH pedals (or
any other input device for that matter) hooked up to your game port. In
the calibration screen just assign the steering to the LWFF and the
brakes and gas to the CH pedals (note: you have to hit the arrow at the
bottom of the screen to get to your axes greater than #3, the pedals show
up as axes 6 and 7 on my system).
Unfortunately, GPL is the only sim that I am aware of that recognizes
multiple controllers in this way.
I'm not sure what you mean by "is it worth it?". This is really trivial,
just plug them both in and make sure your Windows Gameport controller is
recognizing them both.

pedals into your gameport, and insert both the lwff and the pedals
into your joystick applet.
GPL recognises both devices, when calibrating in GPL, press the little
arrow at the bottom of the calib menu to go to a second calib menu
where you can calibrate the pedals.
Unfortunatly GPL is afaik the only sim which handles more than 1
device at the same time.
I also have the lwff + ch pedals, works great. Don't forget to insert
a squashball under the brake pedal of the ch pedals for ultimate
braking control!

off?
I have the LWFF (no CH Pedals) and would like to try the ball with the
LWFF pedals.
Thanks!

and place it below the brake pedal between the 2 pins that force the
travel of the pedal into a straight line. reassemble the whole thing and
you're done.

I used some double sided tape to keep it in place. Works perfect.

Woops, talking about my CH pedals here. For the LWFF pedals, see the
other post in this thread.
