Razorworks, the folks responsible for TIR, are developing what amounts to Ford Unleashed for Empire Interactive. Thirty-two different vehicles, ranging from a 1949 coupe to the 2004 F-150. Read all about it here: http://www.dreamstation.cc/news/video_games/id1607 Remove "hi" from address or it will bounce....

Well, Razorworks is also tossing in the Ford GT, SVT Lightning, SVT Mustang Cobra, 2002 Thunderbird, Mustang Mach III, Gran Torino, 1955 Thunderbird, 1971 Mustang and the Focus Rally. And more besides to fill out the full 32 vehicle lineup. And speaking of lineups.... The 49 Coupe is a treat for those who wanted Motor City Online to be Offline and who have always wanted to drive the car featured in San Francisco Beat aka The Lineup. ;) Read up on it here: http://www.mistersf.com/cinema/index.html?cinlineup.htm Remove "hi" from address or it will bounce....

I am REALLY looking forward to this one -- Total Immersion Racing really came alive with some of the physics patches, and Razorworks was VERY helpful when it came to providing information to make the realism patches even better. I suspect that Ford Racing will lean even more towards realism than they did with the unpatched version of TIR. Speaking of which, have you tried the TIR patches yet, MrLipid? There is even an Advanced Physics Patch that is designed to work with the TIR demo, so you can sample the goodness even if you don't have the full version: http://irlheat.bhmotorsports.com/TIR/ Ford Racing should turn out to be a real treat for sim racers -- I think both this and Mercedes-Benz World Racing will be very pleasant surprises indeed. :-) -- JB
Hi ho, JB! I have just downloaded the TIR demo and have the full game on order. Looking forward to seeing what sorts of magic lurk in the revised physics. How would you compare the new TIR physics with those in Spirit of HEAT? Also, it occurs to me that with a 1949 Ford coupe, it would be possible to do a Thunder Road mod, featuring high speed white lightning runs on dark and hilly back roads.... Thunder, thunder, They called it Thunder Road, The devil was his partner and white lightning was his load.... etc. ;) On 18 Aug 2003 21:55:09 -0700, [email hidden] (jbodin) wrote:

The patched physics (both "Advanced" and "Hardcore") for TIR elevate it up into the "true sim" category, IMO, right up there with things like NASCAR Heat, SCGT, or Viper Racing. The modern tyres give you good grip, so the difficulty level is nowhere near what you will experience with something like GPL or the Spirt of Heat mod for NASCAR Heat -- the patched TIR physics is more like a modern update to SCGT . . . that's probably the closest analogy. Lots of fun to be had, but you have to pay attention to weight transfer, braking zones, etc. Great fun, and a very solid piece of work by Razorworks. Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the patched demo! ;-) -- JB himrlipid <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:<[email hidden]>...

JB, Having spent a fair amount of time with both the patched TIR demo and the SOH mod, I have to say I'm very happy to have both on my hard drive! The P3 at Sears Point is tremendous fun. ;) Even spent some time with Viper Racing for an additional comparison. What I really need to do is clear off enough space so that I can load up the full version of TIR. Those tracks demand more attention than can be given them in one lap. And when FRE ships, well, I plan to drive the wheels off that '49 coupe! Thanks again for all the work on SOH. On 21 Aug 2003 07:20:34 -0700, [email hidden] (jbodin) wrote:

Based on TIR, FRE should be great. Nothing like a racing title that allows fans to fiddle... ;) On Fri, 05 Sep 2003 21:48:05 GMT, "warlord716" <warlord716@<NOSPAM>yahoo.com> wrote:
