As many as you have calibration values in your joystick. (In other
words, the internal domain of the physics' tire slip angle model exceeds
the domain of joystick input values.

Integer math already has more range than current controllers, at least
for Papy sims. (But you're right, floating point has even more excess
range...)

1024, until GPL which I suspect is using a float.
