Today my wife told me my birthdaypresent for my 40th birthday (Yes I'm an
old guy, I know). It is a 4 days trip to Sweden where I will be driving a
REAL Formula One car. It is an Arrows from 1997, so it is not totally new,
but I'm sure it is a LOT faster than everything I have been driven so far.
The reason for the 4 days is, that we will first use our own cars to learn
the Racetrack (Scandinavian Raceway), and after this (and some theory) we
will start to learn to drive a "Singleseeter", a Formula Opel/Lotus, and at
last it is a Formula One car. I look forward to see which of the F1 sims
that come clostest to the real wiev when sitting in the***pit, as I think
there are some difference in frontwheel size, position aso, between F1 2000,
GP3 and CS2000. I have never seen Ubi-softs new Formula 1 sim, so I don't
know how this look. And the sound inside the car! Which is clostest to the
real thing?
I know you know will laugh at me and say, "It is just an old F1", Ok, but
here is some times I got from a guy that has been in this car earlier. 0 to
100 Miles pr hour 4,2 second, braketime from 190 mph to 50 mph 2.9 second
(about 60 meters) Try to do this in your own cars. I know mine can't do it,
not even close. Yes, I know new Formula 1 cars is faster than this, but I
think this is fast enough for me, as I have NEVER driven in this kind of
powercar before.
This will take place i week 33, (around midAugust), and this is the first
time in my life, that I'm looking forward for the summer to end!
I know this post is Off Topic ... maybe.
Because I want to ask you F1 hard-simmers, is there anything beside the real
wiev and the sound you want me to look after when I'm up there?
And second. Do any of you know a racing game where the Scandinavian Raceway
are included, so I can learn the track a little before I'm going racing?
I know Scandinavian Raceway is the only FullSize F1 track in Sweden, but can
anyone of you remember when the last F1 was driven there?
