Not only that, but at least he'll still be alive, if only on the
computer!  Man, losing Dale has took all the fire out of my racing
interest lately!  I just can't get over it, and here it is a month
later, almost! :(

Me too!  Back when N1 came out, I had no idea how to do custom cars
and such, and a friend of mine (Davey Allison fan) made custom cars
for both he and I.. I got the #3, cause that's always been my man!
One of the best Christmas presents I ever got, right there! :)

Been running the #3 here since then, and plan on staying in that car!

I tend to look at this like the #28 car.. That's still on the track,
with the same number AND paint as when Davey was driving it, and I
don't care who's in the car, I *know* who's car it really is!

I feel the same way about seeing Dale's black #3 on the track, even
tho Richard Childress has already said that he'd never put another
black #3 GM Goodwrench car on the track.. I'd rather see the car,
reminding me of all the good races I'd seen it in!

>will never be forgotten as long as he remains in the Nascar sims

says...

There's a difference. Davey didn't die in the car. He died because
he was an idiot and tried to fly a helicopter he had no business flying.
Dale died in "the race" in a car that where he was the master, on
the track that he had mastered, helping his son and best friend compete
for the victory.
I replaced the black #3 with the pink K-2 car. It's still not a
race without Dale.
BTW, I wasn't a fan of Dale and I live in Birmingham and grew up
as a Bobby Allison fan.
