Finally got over 199. at dega, in a modem race with a friend, seems to
be a lot harder to get it than before with N2.

was this done in a draft?

I too ran a 199 while multiplaying once, way back. But I did it without a
draft. Cant say it was me that did it or my setup, I think I got a bunch of
help from latency or something, because I have never been able to come
anywhere near that speed again. Even with reduced temp.

Buzzzz, Wrong.  I can qual (at 40*) at 198.7.  It's rare!  Normaly I'll
qual. at 197.5+.  In any case.  If you run your qual lap and not allow
ANY tire sqweel at all, You'll get those 199.X laps.

As it stands now, While entering T1 and T3 on the last lap of
qualifying I'll get a faint, Single, quick, churp out of the rear.  It's
when I make that perfect lap with no sqweel at all that I knopw I made a
198.x lap before I've crossed the S/F line.  If I can hit that high
198.x lap, I'm possitive you can get a high 199.x and maybe even a 200.x
lap with the right setup and driving style and line.

Yea, I know, that is why I say it couldnt have been my driving or setup. :-)
I have tried many times to duplicate it, but never have been able to, not
even in good drafts. I use to have the replay of it saved, but that was a
while back and I no longer have it. Too bad, it sure would be nice to see it
again.

It wasn't till I used that setup that I achieved those speeds. Before
that, I was always Qualifying 10th or so.  Now with his setups I'm
always up front.  The only time I'm far back in the field is while
running at 60*-69* temps.  For some reason the 60s seem to be like
driving at 100* temps down the straits and 40* temps in the turns. Don't
ask me why, I don't know. But that's what I found.

A while ago Don Welsh uploaded a chassis setup for Dega to the TEN NG.
The setup is quite simple. The speeds are even simpler.  Just run the
track trying your best to NOT allow any tire sqweel.  If, on your last
lap, there is no sqweel, You'll be suprized at your speed.

I can ussualy tell what lap time I'm going to get by how much tire
sqweel there is. even the slightest sqweel at any point on the track
will slow your lap time down 1 tenth.

AH your not doing 198.7 quals online atleast not legaly without cutting the
pits. The fastest I have ever done is 198.1 and I'm known to be one of the
fastest at Talladega on TEN. The fastest I have ever seen is 198.2 . I'd
really like to see you do a 198.7 qual with a 2 car draft only does mid to

I would think you would have more than 33 poles at Dega with 434 races there
Mike if your qualifiying at these speeds.

The fastest I have ever seen is 198.2 . I'd   really like to see you do a
198.7 qual with a 2 car draft only does mid to

Frank you bring up something interesting here With a 30 mph wind it might be
possible but 199 still won't be possible.

IT means it can't be done without cutting the pits or a 30 mph wind.
