Hm, not for me it isn't! I don'y know if you can get American racing with
satellite, but living here in the Lake District it is impossible to get
planning permission for a dish!! i think Channel 5 show the CART races (at
about 1:00am!), but i'm part of the 90% of the country that can't get that
either. Oh well, at least i've got  N2 and ICR2.

I'm from Dublin, Ireland but I live in Canada, just outside Toronto, eh!

Anyone live east of TO and is interested in some head-to-head
IRC2 racing?  I have other games too but I have the most "seat time"
in the Champcars.

I'm from Calgary, Alberta Canada.  We have the World Famous Calgary
Stampede :)  As for racing, Race City Speedway has a short oval and road
track.  I get to see CASCAR, Legends and regular folks with 4,6, and 8
cylinders for Saturday Night Stocks.  It's pretty darn fun.

I can't wait for the CASCAR first race of the season on May 30th.

But it's too damn cold and dry (I grew up there ;-). Now live in the

>Yeah it`s cool isn`t it, I can really recommend this uncle thing to all
>u guys out there, a lot of the fun and none of the "hassle", I just pop
>over to my brother`s whenever I`m go into "uncle-mode" :-)

Fancy any of my nephews and nieces to go with that one? 3 nephews and 7
nieces (1 more in a couple of months) means that we spend all our time
trying to find them birthday presents ;-) At least the eldest of them no
longer expects presents now!

Cheers,
Richard

>    Is the racing coverage from North America any good over in the UK?

It's not too bad and getting better! Eurosport (unencrypted satellite
channel) shows all the CART races live with their own commentary and the
majority of the NASCAR WC races (with US commentary). SKY (encrypted
satellite) shows some of the WC races (those covered by ABC) and even a few
of the BGN ones now. SKY also has the Indy500 live and the rest of the IRL
races (some live). SKY has a weekly roundup program which will show action
from Indy Lites, Barber Dodge, Trans Am, etc.

Terrestial TV coverage is limited to reruns of the CART races on Weds
nights.

One advantage we have is that our channels will often continue to show the
action whilst the US stations are on commercial breaks so we actually get
to see more of the racing than you <vbg>

Cheers,
Richard

Sitting here in Coventry in the West Midlands, UK, I can confirm that we get
Championship Cars live on satellite, channel is Eurosport. Eurosport also try to
cover most NASCAR races ( that's if there is no hurling or pig racing to cover
:) ). Sky Sports do the ABC races ( Talladega and the Brickyard ) and
terrestrial channel 5 does hi-lites of the Championship Car season every now and
then.

Between losing NASCAR to some minority sport on satellite and not being allowed
to use NROS ( legally ) is a real pain.

I'm from Chicago, where it's fairly difficult to find other auto
racing fans.  As for me, I love F1 and also enjoy CART to
some extent.  I don't care for NASCAR too much, though.

"Birds is the key to the whole problem.  It is my belief that
these sheep are laboring under the misapprehension that
they're birds.  Observe their behavior.  Take for a start the
sheeps' tendency to hop about the field on their back legs.
Now witness their attempts to fly from tree to tree.  Notice
they do not so much fly as plummet.  Observe for example
that ewe in that oak tree.  She is clearly trying to teach her
lamb to fly.  Talk about the blind leading the blind."
