Well like I said... if that's the case remove the thing from your sig.
Unless you're representing them here what's the point in having it in
there. I suppose you might be trying to impress people :P

In which case I'd be getting flamed for having a hidden bias. You
can't please some people.

It is the most basic of journalistic ethics - any affiliation that
might be perceived as a potential source of bias must be openly
displayed. So I have the sig on my sports and r.a.s posts (since that
is the subject matter of the site) but no other groups.

If we're going to get into ethics and correct behaviour in that case you
should *definitely* include a disclaimed dissociating your actions here
with SGN unless you're posting on their behalf and your attitude is
effectively policy within the publication.

Then we move onto what is considered professional behaviour. By slamming
more than one website it makes it look like SGN is taking cheap shots at
anyone who dares to try to compete on any level. I fail to see how any
publisher or editor wouldn't be upset with someone who risks dragging the
name of their publication through the mud. This applies to both web and
print press incidentally if you're intent on maintaining a high
journalistic standard.

And yes... I do know about this, I have written for both online and
newsstand publications in the past.
