Ok, Alan - what SHOULD people be talking about?  What their favorite game is
now?  Oh wait, that's GPL, for a lot of people.
Ok, how about what game that's been announced that they're looking forward to?
Oops, WSC.
I know - what game would they most like to see, but no one's writing?
Hmm..that would be CA-(nevermind).
I'm having a bit of fun with you, but isn't that what people do in any other
game group?  They discuss the games they love now, make predictions about
upcoming games, and dream about games they'd love to buy if only someone would
make it...
Is it really that surprising?
BTW, I think there's a lot of technical info given here.  The fact that most of
the issues haven't affected me yet, doesn't mean there aren't people willing to
help.

I was wrong in saying there's no technical help going on here.  There is
some.  But, really, how many times do we have to hear everyone's thoughts on
what game Papy should release next?  Or about WSC, which doesn't look like
it will ever be released?  Enough is enough, I say.  We need more technical
stuff, more stuff on how to be a better sim driver, than a cadre of folks
talking about the same things over and over.

Well what about the guy who is holding the gun to your head and making
you read this group? I say you give him a swift kick in the nuts and
send him packing. Then you won't have to endure the torture any
longer...

Good luck

For technical stuff, read the posts about Ruud's and Gregor's
simprojects. Thats techincal for even the educated engineer I would
say :) Right now there is a very interesting Field of View discussion
going on. There is also a long non-ranting thread trying to looking
deeper into GP3 for some needed positivities. WSC discussion is pretty
much non-existent now because since Empire put the lid on, little new
information is around. N4's online wrecker problem is also discussed
now. I would say that right now, this newsgroup is very general topic
orinetated and not so game specific at all.

Of course, there is also the rantings, but just click the down button
on the keyboard.

If you want new topic you think will be interesting, just start them
yourself. It won't bite.

You've been reading the wrong threads... there's a humdinger<sp?> going on
about field of view and how we perceive things in sims, which, I'll admit,
has gone way off it's original topic (licencing), but is very interesting to
read.

That's fine, and I understand...<g>  I'm not interested in Rally games, which
someone else mentioned in this thread.  I have my newsreader set to ignore
threads which contain Colin McRae Rally, Rally Championship, etc.  That way, I
don't have to wade through posts that I have no interest in.  Maybe you could
do the same for subjects you're tired of?

Tried that - he said that there wasn't the market to do anything else.

Well, that's 2 sales. 1/3rd of the way to the GPL mark.

CART is not what it was when Indycar Racing 1 & 2 were made.
It'd tank.

I disagree. CART has a much wider international market now. I'd never
even heard of CART here in Australia really until '98.

CART is losing a bit of support in the US, but it is rising overseas,
and we're just about to have races in the UK and Germany. I think it'd
do well.
