Futureshop is a rip off and a half. Hell, they still want $54.99 for
F1CS2K when Wal-Mart had it for $24.95 a year ago.
I just picked up the N3 accel pack (with Legends woohoo) at Radio Shack
for $13 in the bargain bin. Future just got a whack of them in and want
$49.99 Kee-rist!

>Forgot to mention, there is a sticker on the box for a $5 rebate at Future
>Shop.  That still probably an after tax $5.  Hardly worth the trouble.
>Which Compucentre has it for $59.99?

>>I paid $65 for mine at Eaton Centre Toronto Compucentre.

> Wow, that's a rarity. Compu-ripoff is usually $10.00 more across the board.
> Problem with new box size means a skimpy manual too.

Smaller box must be limited to non-US release or smaller chains
because I picked it up in a normal sized box for $50 USD at
Electronics Boutique.  Skimpy manual, but that's because all of the
track guides are in the game.  Seems like it covers everything else
with standard Papy detail.  Not a big deal really, I haven't really
found a manual all that useful since '4-wheel Drift' (which is still
good toilet material, I'd like to add).

Strangely, I've bought 4-5 racing sims since N4 came out and this is
the only one of the bunch that I'd consider worth what I paid for it.

Sorry Dave,  didn't realize this ng revolved around you.  I'll try to better
time my comments in the future.

I got mine at EB in the USA.  "Normal" sized box here.  I, too, wish
they would make smaller packages for these silly games, my shelves are
getting full...

You don't need the manual.  Everything beyond instructions about the
user-interface is covered in the online driving lessons and track
tours.  For most folks, this is going to be much more effective
presentation than reading it from the written page.

If you *still* want some reading material, check out "Going Faster" by
the Skip Barber school from your local library.

I realized my first reply was hurried and not complete, rushing to read
and get ready for work and all that...so here is a better(?) reply.

Of course the newsgroup revolves around me...why else would people keep
coming back here?  To quibble about meaningless differences between games?
To throw quadratic equations around to prove some Physical point?  Or to wax
philanthropic about why the USA is really a dirty rotten country that has
NEVER done NO GOOD NO HOW... ?
after ruling out all those above possibilities, I have been forced to
conclude that everyone does INDEED show up just for my few modest snippets
of wisdom....
(now I should be putting a big LOL and saying have a good day..)

I  liked your first response better. You start to lose it towards the end in
the above.

I saw that.  It was right on the shelf beside N2K.  Had to laugh.

I remember being at FS a few years back and they were selling an old version
of a game for more then the new version that was sitting right beside it.
Doh!
